Cut Scene - Monica and the Voice

This was cut as well because they felt that the voice wouldn't have spoken this much to her.

The voice didn’t end there though, it seemed to relish this moment. “Do you know why touching the sapphire has nearly killed you.” Monica tried to respond, but her tongue felt heavy. Her throat blocked by the pressure of the voice’s presence. The voice though seemed to know what she meant. “Well, I wouldn’t expect you to know, but let me inform you little demon. That it was the first merperson who created that sapphire and because you are a demon, the power which is still inside it from him has tried to hurt you. Cruel isn’t it. No doubt any of the gems, but the onyx would hurt you. Those first beings were not trusting of each other. I’m sure they would think the offspring of the others would be their downfall.”

The voice lapsed into silence, while Monica’s mind reeled. The first beings? The first, like the demon queen? “Yes,” the voice replied, responding to her thoughts. “Like the demon queen, the others were the first of the merpeople, angels, and vampires. None of which can be trusted.” She could feel the rage of this voice and also something that she was sure it hadn’t meant to let through: anguish. It came along with the rage. It seemed to blend with her own emotions and she understood. This voice felt betrayed. There was so much sadness that it threatened to drown her, drag her into a void of despair. The voice spoke once more. “If you live, remember this demon, betrayal from a friend is a slow poison.”
